Josiah Strong

Occupation: Clergyman, Author, Social Activist

Position on Annexation:
I am for the annexation of the Philippines mostly for religious reasons. As a very strong beleiver in Christianity I feel it is my duty to transform the Filipinos into Christians. I feel it would greatly help them. I also feel that the Filipinos do not have what it takes to run their own country. They greatly did our help or eveything would turn into total chaos. if we were to let that happen it would go against all religious beliefs that I have. The Anglo-Saxon race needs to take this oppurtunity that we have and annex the Philippines.

Reasons:
As Americans we are the superior race to others in different countries. We are also superior by our religion, being Christians. being the best religion we need to try and help others, especially the Filipinos who severly need our help. it is our duty to give these people the right religion to give them the tools to be proper citizens. Annexing the Philippines is the right thing to do, even if we need to take over by force. Giving these people the proper religion will greatly benefit Americans and Filipinos.
